Where the information comes from
FCC — Federal Communications Commission
Status: connected. We query the FCC's public "Consumer Complaints Data" on opendata.fcc.gov, which includes unwanted-call complaints with the caller ID number consumers reported. It's updated regularly by the FCC.
FTC — Federal Trade Commission
Status: connected — testing. Regular imports have not started yet, so FTC results currently cover only a small sample of records. FTC complaint records are imported from the FTC's published Do Not Call "Reported Calls" dataset and indexed by the reported originating phone number. New records are added in scheduled batches after the FTC publishes them, usually each weekday, so the newest complaints may take a day or more to appear. We store only the reported number, dates, call subject and whether it was a robocall — never the consumer's city, state or area code.
Numbering plan data
Status: connected. Validity, country and number-type rules come from Google's open-source libphonenumber metadata. North American area code assignments follow NANPA (North American Numbering Plan Administrator).
Commercial telecom providers
Status: none connected. Carrier, verified mobile/landline/VoIP type, porting and caller-name data can only come from a paid telecom lookup service. When one is added, results will be labeled with that provider's name.
Community reports
Status: not active. Visitor reports will be moderated and always shown separately from official records.
